Tim Smee

I amTim Smee a 52 year old Chartered Surveyor. After graduating from Reading University in 1976 I joined Lloyds Bank premises department in London. 3 years later I raced a 29 foot sailing boat from Plymouth to Perth (Australia). I then went directly to Dubai where I lived and worked for an English firm of Surveyors. I returned to London in 1985 to work for a Middle Eastern Bank in their investment and property department. Whilst I was with them I completed a part time MBA degree. In 1991 I started working as a self employed surveyor 8 years later I merged my small business with that of my friend. We built a successful practice that we then sold in 2005. I am nearing the end of my 'earn out period' and will soon be looking to start a new firm.
I live with my girlfriend in her pub/restaurant in Berkshire. I have always enjoyed a variety of sports. Currently I am training for the Devizes to Westminster canoe race that starts on Easter Saturday and also for the London Marathon on April 13th. I hope to complete the 125 mile canoe race in around 24 hours and the marathon in 3 hours 15 minutes. My training however, feels somewhat too little, too late (as always!).
